Congratulations, Cara on your 20th anniversary of joining us!

Congratulations to our Practice Manager, Cara (pictured centre with Alex and Sarah Gage) who has celebrated 20 years of loyal service with us.

Cara Smith joined our Chesterfield Road, Woodseats practice in 1998 and was promoted to Practice Manager in 2006.

Cara reflects on the last 20 years: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with Alex, the team and our lovely patients over the last two decades.

“Much has changed, notably computerisation and doing our own glazing, a skill that I was delighted to learn. More recently, it was great to see the difference that the refurbishment made to the practice.”

Speaking about Cara’s long service, Alex Gage said: “Dedicated staff members like Cara are an increasing rarity nowadays and she is a very valued and respected member of the team and a real credit to the business.”

Cara concludes: “Optical assistant, Rachel Ireson and I seem to have made a great team. When I first joined, it was just us two with Alex for a long time. Then the business grew and we have taken on more staff. I enjoy working as part of the Alex Gage team and look forward to many more happy years to come.”

Cara and husband, Carl, will celebrate with a meal at Sheffield Steakhouse, Miller and Carter.

When she’s not working, Cara enjoys spending time with her husband and girls, aged four and six, catching up with friends and, when time permits, long walks and trips to the gym.

Rachel Ireson celebrated her 20th anniversary at Alex Gage’s Woodseats practice in May, 2017.
